North Carolina CDL Skills Basic Maneuvering Vehicle Control CDL Skills Test

The North Carolina Basic Vehicle Control (also referred to as the Basic Maneuvering) CDL Skills is the second of three required North Carolina CDL skills tests.

There are THREE parts to the North Carolina CDL Skills Test

You must obtain a North Carolina CLP (commercial learners permit) prior to taking your North Carolina CDL skills test.

The backing control skills information for each representative "type" vehicle is found in Section 12 of the Free North Carolina CDL Handbook (Commercial Driver's License Manual).

The three-part North Carolina CDL skills tests must be scheduled (often more than a week ahead). They are given either by a North Carolina state tester or by a North Carolina state approved third party tester.
