Combination Vehicles CDL Endorsement

class a cdl, combination vehicle endorsement
This exam is taken by those applicants applying for a Class A Idaho CDL. A Class A Idaho CDL is required to operate a combination of vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds provided the GVWR of the vehicle(s) being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds GVW, which includes ALL Class "A" license applicants. Many states require a Class A CDL when pulling any commercial trailer exceeding 10,000 GVWR, regardless of the CGVWR (COMBINED Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). Check your state rules.

In order to get a Class A Idaho Commercial Driver's License, you must pass the Idaho CDL General Knowlwdge written test + the Idaho CDL Air Brakes written test + the Idaho CDL Combination Vehicles written test. You must also pass the three-part Idaho CDL Skills Tests in a "representative" vehicle. You must provide all required documentation and pay all required fees. Check your specific Idaho CDL Information for details.
